Thanks to Waterfront Marine, Hammond Lumber, and Peggy and Steve Laverdiere of Belgrade, Camp CaPella will have a whole new look to our waterfront program. Waterfront Marine met with Executive Director, Dana Mosher to offer Camp CaPella the "permanent loan" of a 22 foot pontoon boat and 60 horse 4 stroke engine. Waterfront Marine from Hampden will customize the boat to accommodate wheel chairs and take care of all maintenance, launching and storing of the boat during the winters. That boat is going to look very nice tied up to our new Shore Master dock system designed and provided at their cost to Camp CaPella by Hammond Lumber. The dock, which will stretch out some 40 to 50 feet into the lake, is an "L" shaped dock with railings. The dock is completely wheel chair accessible and safe with solid aluminum railings on both sides. The dock will make a great place for kids to fish and to have safe access onto the pontoon boat. Peggy and Steve Laverdiere, who visited Camp CaPella on May 2nd, had a hard time visualizing a summer camp for kids that didn’t have a dock! Thanks to their generosity, and Hammond Lumbers greatly discounted price, we now have one! Many thanks to Peggy and Steve Laverdiere, Hammond Lumber, and the Waterfront Marine for creating a whole NEW waterfront experience for the kids of Camp CaPella!
