Life experiences for people with a disabilities… Memories for a lifetime

Job Description
Camp CaPella Camp CounselorJob Description Introduction

At Camp CaPella members of the counseling staff are the front line people charged with the responsibility of providing quality, responsible care and attention to the youth attending Camp. They have the day to day responsibility of providing motivation, appropriate personal assistance, and assisting with each camper in reaching his or hers camp experience goals.

At Camp CaPella, we want counselors who want to be involved with the young people who attend camp and who can provide the personal care that is often so critical in working with children with disabilities. We want counselors who understand and accept the responsibility that goes with being a role model for our campers, and who will always put the camper’s needs before their own.

At Camp CaPella, Our campers mental, emotional, and physical needs will ALWAYS come first and it is the primary responsibility of the front line counselors to make sure that happens.

We expect nothing less than professional behavior from our counselors.

In addition to being a major contributor to the lives of deserving young people, the counselor experience represents a unique professional development opportunity for those focused on careers in such fields as education, special education, teaching, nursing, medicine, physical, occupational, recreational and speech therapy. To the extent possible, counselors will have the opportunity to focus on areas which they have a special interest with the campers. At Camp CaPella’s foundation, we exist to provide as much of a traditional camp experience as possible for our very special group of campers. It is the counselors who make that happen. It is the counselors who will create wonderful memories for our campers that will last them a lifetime.
